I start a new job tomorrow so expect this will be my last post for a few days, I’m excited to be working for a company so well known for making new and effective cancer treatments and catching up with friends who I previously worked with at other companies but I am nervous about being the “new girl” again and trying to find my way through a raft of new acronyms and company procedures… wish me luck!
I don’t often make berets but I am not sure why, they are relatively simple to create and make a great foil for all manner of decorative techniques. This one was inspired by the riot of flowering plants currently exploding into colour all over my garden and was made with a series of resists, 7 for the flowers and 1 for the beret.
Best of luck with your new job and I’m sure you’ll do fine. It is always a bit nerve wracking to start a new job but I’m betting you’ll catch on quickly
Love the hat – it is definitely a riot of flowers.
Thanks Ruth
Congrats and good luck on the new job! I’m sure you’ll be in the swing of things in no time.
The beret is gorgeous! Definitely fits the challenge!
Thanks Marilyn, I did think about posting this on the forum but don’t want to be greedy!
Another show stopper hat design Teri……I wouldn’t dare wear it, but I absolutely love it! I particularly like the way you have used a resist to create the flowers. Good luck with the new job.
Thanks Karen, the colours are what I would wear but I don’t really have a “beret face”
You are THE hat maker – the beret is superb both technically and in good looks. It’s so pretty and, forgive the pun, would turn quite a few heads when worn in public.
You don’t need good luck in your new job – if you can make a beret like that, then you can do anything!
You are too kind! Perhaps I should add hat making to my science CV?!
It’s a great one Teri! I really like it! And good luck with a new job!
Thanks Galina
